Next Rockford’s mission is to engage Rockford’s next generation of leadership to advocate for improvements in education, the business environment and urban development within and around Rockford, Ill.

Next Rockford unites young professionals from diverse professional, economic and cultural backgrounds that share a common, positive vision for our community.

Governed by a 16-member Strategy Team, Next Rockford members are an active and engaged group that meets monthly and participate in various committees and work groups throughout the year.

Our mission – to develop and implement new ideas, work to facilitate economic revitalization, and help to improve the overall vitality of the Rockford area – is centered on influencing and impacting the following areas:

Education: We work to improve, enhance and support educational opportunities at all levels in our community in order to create a positive influence on local families, enhance economic revitalization, and increase the vitality of the Rockford area.

Business Expansion: We see the potential to expand our local business community. We will work to create, implement and support plans to maintain existing area businesses, while continuing to explore ways to grow business opportunities in the Rockford area.

Urban Development: Rockford has the capability of being the potential hub for cultural, recreational, educational and commercial opportunities in Northwest Illinois. We will work to encourage development in each of these areas.
